The Sierra Itra runs along the coast, between Las Fuentes and Peñiscola. It is probably one of the finest example of a coastal mountain ranges in Spain.

Made up of the Penyal d’Ifac and the Montgó ranges, it runs from the sea-shore to the main inland road and rail links. The Valencian Community is making great efforts to protect this park, as it contains some of the best preserved coastal ecosystems in the Spanish Mediterranean.

The Sierra d’Irta represents a wonderful natural resource for Alcocebre and its sister villages. You can walk, cycle, horse ride, fish, swim, bird watch or just look at the wonders of this national park.
