Onda is a town with 20,909 inhabitents. It is inland from Villarreal, and is about 60km to the south-west of Alcocebre. Onda is in the district of the Plana Baixa.

The history of Onda is long and rich, records indicate it was a Spanish settlement between the 6th century BC to the 1st century AD. Between the 10th and 13th century it was also important during the Arab occupation, as is demonstrated by it’s Muslim medina. A medieval Villa dating from the 13th century also marks the history of the district. Today Onda is an important centre for tile manufacture.
